More racing at Millstream
By Larry Alter
Millstream Speedway’s Greg Roe is a quick learner.
After watching nearly 7,000 fans elbow their way into Millstream Speedway back on July 20, Roe is planning another show.
He’s going to promote this event himself on Sunday, Sept. 7, beginning at 6 p.m.
While the race will be made official today, it is believed that the evening’s program will feature 410 spints, modifieds and street stocks.
It was pretty evident three weeks ago that Millstream is still a fan and driver favorite, despite sitting idle for nearly eight years.
What a sight it was that night watching racing enthusiasts lined 20 deep on the hillsides which circle the turns on the south and north end of the facility.
Then the racing was superb. The O’Reilly All-Star Circuit of Champion drivers engaged in a dazzling display of fast-paced action on the superbly manicured half-mile oval.
Now it will be interesting to see a second race which could go a long way toward setting the stage for the 2009 racing season.
Tell me what you thought of the last show and if another is going to work.

Tickets are $20 for adults. Not even an all star race and no 4 cylinder trucks!! The 4 cylinder trucks had 3 times the amount of V8 trucks show up for test and tune!!! I'd love for Millstream to reopen but if that is going to be the regular ticket price I don't think it will last. Families just can't afford to spend that on a weekly basis. IMO of course!
