May, 9th-Oakshade Raceway (Wauseon OH), 50 cars were in attendance. I drew a 36 which give me a 5th place starting spot in the third heat race. After ten laps I was able to hold on to a 3rd place finish for the final transfer spot. I had a long way to go as I had to start 15th in the feature. When the green flag waved I was on a mission to the front and by the half way mark I had already advanced 13 positions! After a brief caution and racing resumed I was battling for the lead with only eight laps to go. I was able to get underneath the leader until I spun my tires causing them to seal up. For the remainder of the race I held my position and still managed to come home with a solid 3rd place finish. Lesson learned: slower is most of the time faster and overdriving the racecar kills your tires :) Shane made some adjustments to the racecar that really gave us what we needed for the feature. Upcoming races: Friday May 15th Attica Raceway Park, Saturday May 16th Oakshade Raceway. Jon May, 8th-Attica Raceway Park (Attica OH), 32 cars were in attendance. I drew a 32 which give me a 5th place starting spot in the first heat race. Due to all the rain the track was very heavy and tacky which eventually got rough. In the heat race I was able to bounce my way to a 2nd place finish. I redrew a number four starting position for the feature and let’s just say it was rough from the start. Was running 5th when I went off the race track going in to turn one causing a caution which sent me to the tail. After a long rough ride I was able to come across the line in 8th only to find out I was scored 12th. Not the best of nights but the car and driver need to be able to adjust in all conditions, just takes time. Headed to Oakshade Raceway tonight. Jon
