THE KING & THE KING JOIN FORCES
Kyle Petty, CEO of Petty Enterprises, announced last weekend that the Richard Petty Driving Experience has formed the National SprintCar League. Of course, this new organization can be expected to be in direct competition with the World of Outlaws, the most popular winged sprint car racing series. The World of Outlaws founder, Ted Johnson, sold the series to DIRT Motorsports a couple of years ago. There have been rumblings of dissatisfaction among the team owners, drivers, and promoters. In addition, there was a lot of talk about financial problems prior to Johnson’s sale of the series.
The new series is scheduled to begin racing early in 2006. They have already inked three year contracts with 19 time World of Outlaws champion, Steve Kinser, Jason Meyers, Kraig Kinser, Danny Lasoski (driver of the Tony Stewart Racing winged sprint car), Tim Shaffer, Paul McMahan, Joey Saldana, Jason Sides, Brian Paulus, Brandon Wimmer, Shane Stewart, and Jason Solwold. In addition, Sammy Swindell has also signed on for a three year stint.

What do you think? I confirmed it with RPDE in Concord NC this morning!

I guess the REAL outlaws will run with the DIRT boys instead of bowing down under the pressure of King Steve and the rest of the bunch. Is big money good for the sport, or bad?

WoO says it has 50 hours of TV That could be great for the sport. And it could develop into a good thing for their drivers Lots of power went with the NSL but WoO played to full houses every where and some of the places (Tracks) are theirs. it will be interesting LuvRacin and you Rog

50 hours of tv coverage???? I haven't found any at all in the last few years. It doesn't do any good to have coverage from some channel that nobody gets!!

The WoO is on the outdoor channel every Wed. night at 8 pm. and a replay on Thursday night/ Friday Morning at 1 am. I'm in Elida and it's channel 101 but if you have time warner cable you have to have digital cable to get.

Maybe I should raise my photo prices so I can afford that digital cable. Naw...I already pay almost $50 bucks a month for cable. I'm too busy to watch much tv anyways. But if anyone wants to see cartoons; feel free to stop by. I have 3 tvs that each have a kid watching cartoons ALL THE TIME!

Sprint cars on television just isnt fun to watch! They could have 500 hours of coverage, and the only people who will tune in are the die hard sprint car fans.
