Six New Winners At Waynesfield Motorsports Park
After two weeks of rainy weather in Northwestern Ohio, race fans were ready and so was Waynesfield Motorsports Park on Sat May 20th. 110 cars filled the pits to put on an awesome show at the quarter mile dirt track.
Non-Wing Sprint car action saw #2b Mike Dunlap get a front row starting spot by way of the inversion draw. Dunlap drove a super race to survive a couple restarts with #34 Luke Hall looking for an opening to pass. Dunlap went on to earn his 1st sprint car win followed by Hall and Mike Miller.
The stock car race was one of the most exciting races of the night. #74 Lenny Guyton took to the lead early as #42 Tim Rostorfer and #71c Barney Craig traded positions several times. It seemed as though whenever a car would make a move on Guyton, he would end up falling to 3rd spot. Rostorfer became involved in a crash and had to exit the track. This left Craig a few laps to hound Guyton for the lead. In the end, Guyton held Craig back and earned his first victory of the year at Waynesfield as #21 Chad Barr finished 3rd.
Mini-Sprint action saw Vandalia, Ohio's Tim Viles return to his winning ways of last year. Viles drove his black #18 racer to victory lane for the 1st time this year and break the win streak of Jarod Horstman in the mini-sprints. #59 Kirk Jefferies was 2nd and #26 Rod Henning finished in 3rd spot. #311 Aaron Moloney scored his third top 5 finish in as many races, coming home 4th.
Roger Keysor was lucky enough to pace the field in his red and yellow #48 truck. As the green flag flew, Keysor pulled away and was never challenged. This was Keysors first win in the truck class as #R27 Randy Crossley was 2nd and #4f Scott Fisher finished 3rd.
Darryl Banks #2b brought a brand new modified to Waynesfield. #22 Andy Bibler lead the race in the beginning but Banks had the new chassis handling like a dream. He soon overtook Bibler and slowly pulled away to leave #50 Davey Gant and Bibler to do battle for 2nd. Gant tried for over 10 laps to get pass Bibler but ended up just behind him as the checkered waved.
In the compact class, #4 Nate Mailhot has been the car to beat so far this year. Mailhot took to the lead from his front row starting spot. The blue #17 Justin Durflinger had two 3rd place finishes this year and his hunger showed. The young man scored his 1st win by being the 1st car to pass Mailhot this year. Mailhot was 2nd followed by #54f Robert Faulder.
Saturday May 27th Waynesfield Speedway will again be running all 6 classes of cars. See you at the races!!

I heard that Jeff Babcock's dad was driving. At least that was the rumor in the pits. Don't know that for sure.
