Not complaining, but I think the folks calling the signals on the raceceiver need to let the field get through 1-2 before you call yellow on the start of a race. I think it definitely caused some issues tonight on the first sprint car heat race and I thought you were also awful quick to call yellow on the first start attempt in the sprint feature. Again, not complaining....just needs a little better timing....too much going through a drivers mind down the front stretch and into turn one when you take the green.....let the field settle a bit before you call out the yellow.... Just my opinion....
Still had a great time tonight. Hopefully mother nature will become a race fan at some point this year......

I agree 100% the guy parked beside us got BUTT packed so hard in his sprinter it trashed the rear bumper and fuel cell was smashed in 4-6 inches from the quick yellow. let them get thru 1-2 and throw the yellow on the back stretch !!!!!! saves alot of parts in the long run.

I typically don't respond to issues on here as I would much rather deal with them in the drivers meetings, however I will address this one. We are just like everyone of you and we are human and we do make some mistakes. I also appreciate the feedback from you.
I (Dan Kelly) am the race director and I am also the guy talking to the drivers on raceceiver. Last night we had two starts that were called back. The first one no lights were turned on or no flag was displayed and yes I did tell them that the start was too early on raceceiver and to back it down safely as they were going thru 1 & 2. The second recall which is the one that I believe Mr. Conover is referring to the yellow light was inadvertanly turned on right away and I was telling the drivers to back it down safely. I really don't think telling the drivers to back it down safely will cause a pile up. The raceceiver is simply a QUICK information exchange from track officials to the driver, the rest is up to the drivers to get their vehichles slowed down in a safe manner. It is told to the drivers in the drivers meeting that we want them to stop as soon as safely possible on a red flag incident and that they must try to not pass the accident scene. This is just in case there is a fuel spill, we don't want a hot headder to trigger a bad incident.
I never mentioned over the raceciever for the drivers to stop, I simply told them that it was a bad start and to safely slow down. If the drivers would prefer for me to not say anything over the raceciever at all until they hit the backstretch then I will gladly do that. I do my best to give the drivers as much information over the raceciever as possible to give them a safe line past an accident scene. For instance I'll tell them "yellow flag turn 1 & 2 car sitting low on the track, go high thru 1 & 2. This is the first complaint that I've ever head about my use of the raceciever and I was the one doing it last year also. However, it is you the racer that I'm trying to protect and if that will better assist you then I'll gladly do that for you. Thank you for the suggestion.

Yes Dan thanks for listing like you always do. Quick yellows on the start off a race is always trouble, Nascar had to start throwing the yellow on the back stretch cause they always seamed to wreck with quick yellows and they are professional drivers on a closed course. LOL Thanks again Dan you are doing a great job so far. Hope we get all the races in next week. Tim

Dan thanks for maning up to it and saying that you might of done it wrong and you admit to it. Thats what you call a class act rookie Race Director. You have a lot on your mind right now and you will proably admit you might not be perfect but you are stepping up and giving it one h*** of a try. You havent let the job go to your head. You will proably say that you are at the start of a big learning curve and you are just begining to go into turn one, hang in there you will finish.
You get my point or should i say your point of it.
