From race director Danny Kelly: I incorrectly announced at the drivers meeting on 5-5-2012 that you could run the same tire as a visiting sanctioning body and still receive WRP championship points. This is false! We are a Hoosier tire sponsored track and require anyone running for WRP point to have 4 Hoosiers on. You are welcome to run the visiting sanctioning bodies tire rule however you will not receive WRP points. I apologize for any misunderstanding. This rule pertains to non wings, mods, mini sprints and trucks.
Thanks,
Danny Kelly
So you should make those "sanctioned" races non points for that class for the track, but since this isnt the case, how does points work when a sanctioning body comes in and says Open Tire Rule, and the top 3 are on goodyears and 4th is on your hoosier rule? Will the person finishing 4th get 4th place points or 1st place points for the track since the top 3 would fail track tech? These rules pertain nothing to my class or the class I work on cars in, just curious?

The tire rule was announced way before the season started and was published when the purse structure was published. There was a small misunderstanding this past week which led to the incorrect announcement in the drivers meeting. This is the reason we are trying to get it out there ASAP. As for your question concerning the finish versus those on other tires: If you are the highest finishing WRP regular then you are still getting the most points versus your other regular competitiors. There are a select few races that this will even apply to.
Thanks,
Dan Kelly
Ok, just figured Id throw it out there before someone else asked the question later. Agian it pertains nothing to the class I run or the class I help. Thanks Dan
